BRT Metrobus system in Mexico City launches the line 7, the most modern and innovative one of the system
Nowadays, Goal Systems plans the 6 Metrobus lines, and, it will soon plan line 7 as well. This new line will operate with 90 double-deck buses through one of the most representative avenues in Mexico City, with more than 15 kilometers long.
Our tool GoalBus® planning will reduce a 40% the travel times and will ease the mobility of 130 thousand people per day. The fleet will substitute the current 180 buses, transporting the same amount of people than 9,720 cars. Besides, the line will be connected with the already existing Metrobus lines and the Sistema Colectivo de Metro. There will be 29 bus stops and 2 terminals.
Currently, the fleet is composed by 650 buses. This year, due to the expansion of line 5, there will be 90 more buses and 3 roadway corridors are expected for the next years, up to 1,250 buses.
The operation of line 7 buses will have real time geo localization and communication with the Metrobus control center and Mexico City Government, who will receive images, audios, and the information shown on the onboard screens. The buses will be Enviro50 model, the ones used in the major world capitals, Alexander Dennis British style.
