OCTOBER, 2020. Panama.
Metro de Panamá continues to rely on our optimized planning. After going into production with GoalRail®metro, the implementation of GoalDriver® was completed last August, in order to optimize the rostering of crew for its trains. A thorough work was carried out within this project, implementing the automatic generation of its manual graphic reports and eliminating any possible impact upon the change management.
In Panama City, the metro has consolidated itself as the backbone of urban mobility in the city’s metropolitan area, serving more than 2 million inhabitants. Currently the L1 and L2 lines are programmed with Goal Systems tools, generating the best solution for the operation of the 48 trains and 331 resources, achieving important savings in the operational management of the system.
The implementation of GoalDriver® provides Metro de Panama with the model for the optimal assignment of drivers and support staff such as: station information agents, train washers, lost and found, among others. The use of GoalDriver® and GoalReports tools facilitates the programming processes and guarantees a better control of the operation. Once the implementation project has finished, these tools will be incorporated into the Support and Maintenance Service, guaranteeing the total and personalised assistance of the train and crew programming systems.
GoalDriver® has ensured that the personnel in each operation zone continue to be assigned to their preferred zone 100%. Before the use of the tool, this activity could take up to a week, and now with this implementation the assignment times are reduced by up to 85%, simplifying the control by the line managers. We would also like to highlight that Metro de Panamá is now able to control all the scheduling information for more than 15,300 daily activities using the same tool.
Such success enhances our client’s satisfaction and strengthens Goal Systems’ presence and reliability in Central America, especially in Panama City, where the entire urban bus and underground public transport system is planned with Goal Systems’ software.
